Message from Francis Howell Activities Director Sean Erwin

Welcome to Francis Howell High School and to the Viking family.  It’s a great day to be a Viking!

It is with great pleasure that I come to Francis Howell High School as Activities Director.  At FHHS interscholastic athletics and activities are an extension of the classroom and the overall educational process.  They provide valuable lessons for those involved.  Teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, self-confidence, citizenship, and pride in community are all developed through active participation in Howell activities.  These are all qualities we would like to see in FHHS students which ultimately helps to develop responsible adults and productive citizens after high school.

In my short time at FHHS I have seen the passion of students, staff, and community members for our students and their accomplishments.  The very dedicated staff and student-participants in Howell activities work hard to win not only in their activities but also in the classroom.  The pride and support of the Howell community provides a foundation for all of these great things to happen.  The Activities Department has experienced success in conference, district, and state competition over the years and it is our goal to build on this success.

Our students, athletes, coaches, sponsors, and staff will set high standards and strive for continuous improvement and success in FHHS activities, in the classroom, and in the community.  All student-participants will strive to be model citizens and work to display the FHHS Activities Department core values of Respect, Integrity, Sportsmanship, and Excellence (RISE).  Participants in Howell activities are leaders both in and out of school. As a student participant at FHHS we will take great pride not only in our success but in the way we represent our school, district, and community.

It is my hope that you will become involved in a sport or activity at FHHS and be a part of the success our programs experience.   As we strive to improve on a daily basis please feel free to contact me with any questions that you have or with input on how we can make FHHS activities the best in the state.  Go Vikings!
